A film, based on a true story, which dramatises the story of Erin Brockovich's fight against the energy giant Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Julia Roberts stars as Erin Brockovich, an unemployed single mother of three children who, after losing a personal injury lawsuit against a doctor in a car accident she was in, convinces her lawyer, Ed Masry (Albert Finney), to hire her. She discovers a systematic cover-up of industrial poisoning (hexavalent chromium) of Hinkley's water supply that threatens the health of an entire community and fights to bring the company to justice.
