Is dephytinisation from infant cereals beneficial to the nutrition absorption?

— 8 May 2009 02:34 | Health

Cereals are considered a rich plant source of carbohydrate, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, and are therefore are usually introduced to an infant's diet between the ages of four and... — full story

This is an artistic illustration of the giant planet HR 8799b. The planet was first discovered in 2007 at the Gemini North observatory. It was identified in the Hubble Near Infrared and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) archival data in a follow-up search of NICMOS archival data to see if Hubble had also serendipitously imaged it. The planet is young and hot, at a temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. It is slightly larger than Jupiter and may be 10 times more massive. Analysis of the NICMOS data suggests the planet has water vapour in its atmosphere and is only partially cloud covered. It is not known if the planet has rings or moons, but circumplanetary debris is common among the outer planets of our solar system, (c) NASA, ESA, and G. Bacon (STScI)A hidden exoplanet found in archival data

— 1 Apr 2009 14:38 | Astronomy

A powerful, newly refined image-processing technique may allow astronomers to discover extrasolar planets that are possibly lurking in over a decade's worth of Hubble Space Telescope... — full story
