NASA/Goddard Space Flight Centre

In 1959, Goddard Space Flight Centre was established as NASA's first space flight centre. It is located in a Maryland suburb outside of Washington, DC, and is home to the Nation's largest organisation of combined scientists and engineers dedicated to learning and sharing their knowledge of the Earth, solar system, and Universe. The mission of the Goddard Space Flight Centre is to expand knowledge of the Earth and its environment, the solar system and the universe through observations from space.
